Free Timeline


  • To add timeline event

    just double-click/tap anywhere on the canvas.
  • To shift an event

    hold in the middle of event and drag it sideways.
  • To change event length

    drag the start or the end of the event (the tips).
  • To manually set specific event start/end dates

    click/tap on the event, enter the desired start/end dates, and press Update.
  • To eneter a variety of dates

    use formats: YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, or YYYY-MM-DD HH:SS. For B.C. dates, add "-00" to the four-digit year (e.g., 100 B.C. becomes "-000100").
  • To label an event

    click/tap on the event, enter the label text, and press Update.
  • To add links or images

    tap the edit button next to the label input and use the rich text editor which will open. To use links and images, remember to specify the full URL address.
  • To resize images

    in the rich editor, simply tap the image and drag down-to-right to enlarge it or tap and drag up-to-left to shrink the image.
  • To zoom in or zoom out

    use the pinch gesture on mobile and tablet touch devices or the magnifying glass menu button.
  • To temporarily save a timeline

    you can leave the page and return within a week from the same device and your work will be here. Yay!
  • To permanently save a timeline

    Click Save and create an account with an email and password. You can then access it from any device, including mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.).
